Motor Grader

The position is responsible for basic maintenance of all granular (rock) surfaced and dirt roads within Lincoln assigned territory. Position is intended to report to the County Maintenance Shed located in Lincoln. This will also include working with ROW, mowing, snow removal, minor bridge maintenance and other duties as assigned. Must perform required duties in a satisfactory manner without continuous supervision. Requirements: Graduation from high school. Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License (with air brake endorsement). Starting wage is $26.82 per hour with full benefit package. With the exception of poor road conditions, employees can generally expect to work from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Applications can be picked up at the Tama County Highway Department, 1002 E. 5th Street, Tama, or printed from the Tama County Website. Position will remain open until filled, but applications should be received no later than January 16, 2026. Tama County is an EOE.

Position Summary

Under direction of the Road Foreman to whom assigned, is responsible for basic maintenance of all granular (rock) surfaced and dirt roads within an assigned territory.  Must perform required duties in a satisfactory manner without continuous supervision.

Required Education
