Mission Statement
Economic Development is about improving the lives of Tama County citizens. As of January 2026 Economic Development for Tama County is contracted with the Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce. The Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce is working to build a collaboration between government, business, nonprofits, education institutions, workforce, and residents to add value to the Tama County economy. It is our responsibility to promote and strengthen our businesses and industries that increase wealth and tax base. We do this by helping to retain and attract high quality jobs. Our organization is actively working to provide greater access to affordable housing and resources that improve our quality of life; including recreational and cultural amenities, historic preservation, and local dining and shopping. We believe a vibrant business climate means stronger communities.
