Business Development
Economic Development is about improving the lives of Tama County citizens. It is our responsibility to pursue projects that increase wealth and tax base. As of January 2026 Economic Development for Tama County is contracted with the Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce. The Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce is actively working to provide greater access to affordable housing, programs and resources that help Tama County businesses and industries, and resources that improve our quality of life, including recreational and cultural amenities, and local dining and shopping. We do this by helping develop a vibrant business climate and stronger communities.
The Marshalltown Area Chamber of Commerce works closely with governmental bodies, private business and industry, and interested individuals from throughout Tama county to develop projects to improve the business climate. We attend regional and State meetings regularly. We attend yearly State conferences to stay informed about programs and funding resources.
