Excavator Operator
Responsibilities: Under direction of the Road Foreman, the position is responsible for basic operation and maintenance of an excavator and other duties as assigned. Must be able to perform required duties in a satisfactory manner without continuous supervision. This is a designated Utility Worker 2 wage classification. This position will be a District 1 opening but depending on the needs of the county it may work in District 2. The excavator will be based in Clutier and the road grader for winter operations will be based out of Shed B in Toledo. Winter operations will include plowing snow with a motor grader and driving a plow truck supplementing existing routes. The route covered will be to assist where it is needed most and will vary from event to event. Winter operations will start in November and continue until April. Reporting location outside of this allotted time frame is dependent on winter weather conditions and is subject to change.
Requirements: Graduation from high school, or GED. Possess and maintain a valid Class A CDL (Commercial Driver’s License). Pre-employment and random drug screening are required.
Starting wage is $27.96 per hour with full benefit package. With the exception of poor road conditions, employees can generally expect to work from 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
